I took a trip to Las Vegas, NV during Thanksgiving break. In Las Vegas, I had a lot of fun. My grandparents came with us. My cousins came too. But they joined us a day later than when we got there. On the first day, we were driven to our hotel and relaxed. Our hotel was called The Palazzo. Our hotel was on The Strip (also known as Las Vegas Boulevard, which is famous because of its hotels and casinos). Because of the 3-hour flight I was tired and had a headache! But after we had dinner I felt much better. Then I went to sleep.
On the next day, we had breakfast and went straight to a place called “Circus Circus”. There, there was a place called The Adventuredome Theme Park. There, we got tickets and the first ride I went on was called Thunderbirds. It was a carousel of flying vehicles. I went with my sister. You could also control whether you went up or down using a lever. After Thunderbirds, I went on something called Canyon Blaster. It was a big rollercoaster that had loops and dives! I went on that with my dad, but my head was down the whole time (they also took photos) and I had a slight headache after I got off! Then we went on a much smaller rollercoaster called Miner Mike. It was much more fun than Canyon Blaster because in one spot on the coaster, every time we passed it, it threw me forward. After riding Miner Mike, I wanted to go on one more thing before we went back to the hotel. It was a ride called Disko. And this really gave me a headache! It was a spinning rollercoaster that was, at the same time, moving in the shape of a “U”. After that, in the night, we went to see something called The Fountains of Bellagio. Bellagio was another hotel on the strip. On the way, we saw a volcano show that was happening outside the hotel Mirage. Then we saw the Fountains of Bellagio. It was beautiful. After seeing the Fountains of Bellagio, we ate dinner and slept.
On the third day, there was a lot of excitement because we were going to the Hoover Dam and then to the Grand Canyon. At the Hoover Dam, we learned about when it was built, who it was named after (it was named after president Herbert Hoover) and when it was completed. Then we were on our way to the Grand Canyon. We were supposed to all take a chopper ride next to the canyon but only four people could fit in one chopper and there is a one hour difference in time between Arizona and Nevada so we came when the last ticket had already been sold. However, my grandpa, grandma and one of my cousins went on the chopper the next day.
On Wednesday, while the others were on the chopper, my dad, one of my cousins, my sister, my mom and I went to a hotel called Mandalay Bay. In the hotel, there was an aquarium called Shark Reef Aquarium. We went there and saw komodo dragons, pythons that were swimming and many other cool animals. After that, we went to the gift shop, bought something for each of us, and went to the hotel. In the evening, my uncle, my cousin, and I went to a place called Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. We were “trained” to be avengers by renting a device that asked you questions about each avenger. You had to read about the avengers and get the questions right, but you would be promoted to the last level even if you made some mistakes. Then we ate dinner. I slept in my cousin’s room that night.
On the next day, I woke up at 6:00 AM to get ready for us to leave for the airport.
